New trailers for "Class" have been released! In case you didn't know. Two of them - one full trailer and one teaser.
And I reckon the show looks GREAT.
The acting looks good enough. The writing will be amazing, seeing as it's written by Patrick Ness. And since when did a spin-off have a higher budget than the parent show? - the effects and production look fabadab.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think I saw a pyrovile a couple of times...?

Stickied. This should be the only thread on the sub-board that doesn't relate directly to a specific episode, but I've made you Moderator here so do what you like.
The trailer does looks good, I'm looking forward to watching the show now.
I'm not sure Class has a bigger budget than Doctor Who... Ness is surely getting big bucks but so is Moffat. And none of the Class cast would be getting anywhere near the money Capaldi and Mackie make on the parent series. Salaries aside, it does look like the show has a comfortable budget... but good production values go a long way. I honestly don't think the BBC would spend much on a show to be premiered on a multichannel that hardly exists.
I think you're right about the pyrovile. I mean, if it looks like one then it probably is. They would intentionally avoid creating any new "monsters" that look similar to existing ones, for marketing reasons among others.
Some information on Class, as this is becoming our info hub for the show:
- Patrick Ness created the show, and wrote all eight episodes. He is executive producer, along with Steven Moffat and Brian Minchin.
- The series consists of eight 45-minute episodes, to be aired from October 22 to December 3 this year.
- Episodes will be released online on BBC Three and shown again afterwards on BBC One.
- Here in Australia, the ABC will have the first two episodes available on ABC iview straight after the UK premiere. It will debut on ABC2 on October 24.
- Peter Capaldi will make an appearance as the Doctor and Nigel Betts will reprise his role as Mr Armitage. No other Doctor Who characters are set to feature.
Is that all correct? Anything else to add...

P. Ness said that he preffered to create new monsters for Class over reusing from Doctor Who, so maybe the Pyrovile isn't a Pyrovile? For comparison: Pyrovile on the left, Class monster on the right. They look pretty similar, but there are differences. Similar enough for it to be weird if the Class monster turns out not to be a pyrovile, like you said. But different enough for it to be weird if they are supposed to be the same species. Either way it's weird.

But different enough for it to be weird if they are supposed to be the same species. Either way it's weird. Thanks for taking the time to show them side-by-side. It is weird. First possibility is that it is a pyrovile. That would be a bit annoying considering it does have noticeable differences to the original pyrovile. But who are we to talk, I'm sure pyroviles watching Pyrovile Who aren't phased by humans having different skin and hair colours. Second possibility is that it's a species related to the pyrovile. If that's the case, I think I'll cringe so hard my eyeballs fall out and my optic nerve gets pulled into Victorian London. That's just shit. Third possibility is that it has no connection to the pyrovile. Then why does it look so similar? Fourth possibility is one I haven't thought of yet, but hopefully it's the one they've gone with because it must be better than the other three. By the way...is this a time vortex? Sorry, I can't turn my brightness up any higher.

Sorry, I can't turn my brightness up any higher. Hahaha. I just noticed that it it's the wrong colour to be 12's vortex. Looks more like 10's or 11's second one. So maybe the time vortex isn't a time vortex? Well, it's been confirmed that the Pyrovile isn't a Pyrovile! It's called "Corikinus". Newly released pic: Guess what! It's weird. That photo makes it look different to a Pyrovile - a lot more so than in the trailer, I think. I'm betting that it has no conection to the pyroviles. And I agree, pulling the "related" lever would be VERY cringey. Class is only two (?) days away. Yay!

Well, it's been confirmed that the Pyrovile isn't a Pyrovile! It's called "Corikinus". I think they can get away with that. In these stills at least, it doesn't look too similar to the pyrovile.

I've watched both episodes. Ready to discuss them respectively in the appropriate threads when you are.
